Welcome to The Mitchell House! This is a step by step - photographed accounting of the construction of our new home! As they say down here in south Mississippi - "This one and one more will be two I've done!"
There are few reasons to build one's own home. It is not something you should attempt unless you are committed to about 7 months of hard work - late nights - etc.. However, there is one overwhelmingly good reason to attempt it - MONEY!!! The cost of this house will be CONSIDERABLY cheaper than a lock and key job.
So - each category will chronicle the work on the house. Our target date for occupation is the week before Christmas!!

I'm so excited for y'all!! I want to ride down and see your property, house, building etc. Y'all crossed my mind this afternoon and I almost rode down to see if anyone was there. You will need lots of water, patience, prayers, and friends, but it can be accomplished. Tell Andrea our SS class will be making plans for the Christmas party! :)

We will be praying for yall's completion date. Our house was turnkey and it took from Jan 8 to Sept 1 to complete and move in. Will enjoy following the mitchell home progress.

Save money yes, but I get a lot of ??? out of knowing that god gave me the abilities that I have. When it's through I always say "I can't believe I did that."
