Working Towards an Exterior Finish

The brick work has been done - we have started on the hardiplank porches. The metal and vinyl are now done.  Below are a few pics.

The Brick is OFFICIALLY Done!

The brick work is done - and the sheetrock will be primed tomorrow.  In an effort to restore some normalcy, I spent the day cleaning up the HUGE mess left after the brick work.  Also, I moved a bunch of scrap sheetrock from the front yard to the back.  I do not want my bricks to get stained by the red clay we have up here - so I put down ground cover that the nurseries around here use. That stuff is not cheap!!!

More Progress on Brick and Other Stuff!

I believe the brick men will be done in a couple of days at the most. I have included a few more pics of the progress.  Also, one of my good friends installed the posts on the porches today.  There will be a brick roll-out that goes just under the edge of the posts. With the posts installed, the rest of the metal can be wrapped around the exposed beam.  Also, the base and top caps are wedged on the posts until the metal is wrapped at the top and brick is laid at the bottom. Then the caps will be placed at the top and bottom!

My long awaited "4 block" window for the master bath came in - just in time for the brick man.

It's Friday - and the Bricks are Flying!
