People Who Show Up!

Great churches are built by Christ! He did say, "I will build my church!"  But, the evidence is also overwhelming that people have a role! God's children, filled with the Spirit of God, love the work of God - the work of the Kingdom!  God supernaturally gives an increase - but He uses people in the process of getting it done! 

Hence, great churches are Christ honoring and Bible believing! And the people in great churches "show up" for the mission - the ministry that takes place among people!

In good to not so good churches - showing up is not so important - actually - showing up is considered optional.  In great churches - people seldom if ever miss the opportunity to be participants in carrying the Gospel to their communities and beyond!

As far as the "people" ingredient is involved in church growth - great churches are built on those who show up - not those who never take the field!!!

Technology can be a wonderful tool and budensome curse - all at the same time.  Blogging has enabled me to communicate my thoughts - encouragement - life experiences - and frustrations for several years.  Lately, my blogging has suffered the same fate as my tech - overload! Between facebook - email - smartphones - and life in general - I have reached my limits.

The first thing to go was direct tv!  At this point, 2 months without Direct TV, I can say that I miss it very little. As a matter of fact, through internet streaming video, we have become much more intentional about what we watch and therefore, more satisfied.  I am not overloading on news either, which was mostly all bad in the first place!

I am trying to consolidate my email to one device.  I am tired of chasing it on the cellphone, home computer, work computer, and laptop!  Too much! As a matter of fact, I am thinking about deleting all email programs from all but one computer!

Also, I am selling tech that I no longer use!  No point in having it around collecting dust.

Finally, I am not sure very many people read blogs anymore. I'm sure some do - just not sure I want to produce them anymore!  I will get back to you on that!
