This year, as part of "the Radical" challenge, I am reading the Bible through chronologically. I read about David and King Saul in the last week. Some things stood out to me.....
1. Though David had great courage, he also encountered fear!
2. He took his fears to God! (the chronological approach weaves the Psalms into narrative) When I read what David wrote in some of those selected Psalms, I realize just how fearful David was of his enemies - yet he feared and trusted God more!
3. David turned his enemies and his fears over to God!
4. God, as one often sees in the Old Testament, took care of business!
5. Through worry, we cannot change reality - but we can make it worse - or at a minimum, seem worse!
God is working! He opens up His word so beautifully to those who will read it and learn. The blessing from The Book never end!
